Raunchy Rihanna rocks the Brits

Take That kicked off this year's Brit Awards with a show-stopping performance of their new single Kidz, while Rihanna brought the raunch to the O2 as she stripped down to a sexy leotard.

All five members of Take That - Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Jason Orange, Howard Donald and Robbie Williams - took to the stage at the O2 Arena in London, accompanied by an advance guard of dancers dressed like riot police complete with branded shields.

It was the routine they were meant to perform at The X Factor final which was reportedly axed by show boss, Simon Cowell, shortly after clashes between police and students over university tuition fees.

Rihanna later took to the stage in a stunning red dress, before stripping down to a revealing black leotard as she performed her hits What's My Name and Only Girl In The World.

Plan B, meanwhile, recreated a courtroom drama and a riot for his Brits medley of She Said and Prayin'. Host James Corden joked that it was like "a particularly violent episode of Porridge".

As well as the big production numbers, there were also some impressive stripped-down performances. Adele relied on her unique vocal talents to belt out Someone Like You, while Mumford And Sons performed their song Timshel accompanied only by a guitar and a banjo.

Arguably the performance of the night came from double Brit winner Tinie Tempah, who brought a medley of his hits to the stage, accompanied by a line-up of lookalikes.

Canadian band Arcade Fire - who also took home two gongs - rocked the O2 stage with their song Ready To Start.

And Cee Lo Green closed the show, singing a duet of his massive hit Forget You with Paloma Faith.
