Lady Gaga retains album top spot

Lady Gaga held onto the top spot in the charts this week, with her album Born This Way remaining at number one for a second week.

Last week her third studio record stormed to the summit when the American achieved the best first week for an album so far this year with 215,000 sales.

The top three is unchanged as Adele's run in the chart showed no sign of abating, with her albums 21 and 19 at numbers two and three.

Fourth place was claimed by the highest new entry for the Pierces' record You & I, while Jessie J's Who You Are crept up from sixth to fifth.

In the singles chart Pitbull's Give Me Everything, featuring Ne-Yo, Afrojack and Nayer, also held firm, scoring its third successive week at the top.

I Need A Dollar by Aloe Blacc crept up from third to second, while Alexandra Stan's Mr Saxobeat claimed the third spot.

The only new entry into the top 40 was Alex Gaudino's track What A Feeling, featuring Kelly Rowland, which shot in at number six.
