Wet Glastonbury crowds battling mud
Muddy mayhem reigns again at Glastonbury with torrential downpours expected to sweep across the 900-acre site.
Every inch of Worthy Farm is becoming a sticky quagmire as the remainder of the 170,000-plus revellers pitch their tents.
Welly-clad early arrivals have been putting on a brave face despite hundreds of tents flooding and treacherous conditions under foot. Clouds cleared over the Pilton hills on Wednesday night but the rain was due to make an unwelcome return.
Claire Austin, of MeteoGroup, the Press Association's weather division, said the best weather will not arrive until Sunday.
More than half of the ticket-holders for the sold out event will have squelched their way to the site by Thursday night.
The first of the main acts take to the Pyramid Stage on Friday.
Marc Saunders, 31, from Bath, pitched his tent in driving rain with his five-year-old daughter Sam and wife Sarah.
He said: "We say it's 'go hard or go home'. We're thrilled to be here, the place is magical - even in the mud."
Campers hauling their bags and beers along the slippery thoroughfares were told to pitch tents on hills after some were flooded.
This year's event sees U2, Coldplay and Beyonce headline.
