Pig will fly again for Pink Floyd
Record bosses have had to create a new flying pig for a Pink Floyd promotional stunt - after the original cover star was found to be leaky.
The inflatable porker first flew above London's Battersea power station in 1976 to create one of the band's most striking sleeves for the Animals LP.
The shoot is to be recreated on Monday to mark the release of remastered copies of the band's studio albums.
But a new copy had to be commissioned from inflatable specialist Air Artists.
A spokeswoman for the band said: "Sadly, two weeks prior to the event the original neoprene glued pig was officially declared not airworthy and a brand new high-frequency welded PVC replica Pink Floyd pig has been made for the occasion."
The original cover shoot took place over three days but on the second day, the helium-filled pig broke free and drifted over to a field in Kent.
The new shoot will be staged on a different side of the decommissioned power station to the cover due to partial demolition and temporary buildings in the area.
As well as the reissues, the band's 14 studio albums will be available digitally and in a box set from Monday. There will also be lavish new versions of Dark Side Of The Moon.
