Stars bed down on London streets

Rebecca Ferguson has given up her home comforts to sleep on the London streets.

The former X Factor finalist - who also performed two of her songs Nothing's Real But Love and Shoulder To Shoulder - was joined by Dancing On Ice star Chloe Madeley, her dad Richard and Radio 1 DJ Sara Cox and hundreds of City workers at Broadgate's Exchange Square for Centrepoint's annual Sleep Out.

"With over 80 thousand young people experiencing homelessness in the UK, it is essential that we raise awareness of this issue. People don't choose homeless, circumstances cause it," she said before revealing she would miss her bath most of all.

Chloe, 23, who finished third in this year's competition, admitted she would miss watching Sex And The City before bedtime.

"I'm really honoured to have been asked to work with Centrepoint because the work that they do with young homeless people is astonishing. I love it when charities come up with innovative ways to raise money and awareness, and Sleep Out is definitely one of those," she said.

Richard added: "I'm certainly going to miss my nice comfy mattress!"

Former I'm A Celebrity champ Christopher Biggins read 'sleepers' a bedtime story of Roald Dahl's Red Riding Hood before they bedded down for the night.

"There are several areas which I'm uncomfortable with in 2011 - war, homelessness, poverty. It gets me really angry and any little thing we can help in raising awareness and money is very exciting," he said.

The Centrepoint Sleep Out, now in its seventh year, aimed to raise £250,000 for its charity appeal to fund support for 513 homeless youngsters this winter.
