Burke to duet with mum on album

Alexandra Burke is planning to duet with her mum on her new album.

The former X Factor winner is working on the follow-up to 2009's Overcome and told the Daily Star that she is hoping to record a track with her mother, former Soul II Soul singer Melissa Bell.

She said: "She is a big influence. She does backing vocals on it already. Now I want a duet with her."

However, Alex said she has to be careful because her mum suffers from kidney disease.

The 23-year-old said: "I have to be careful because my mummy's not too well. She can't get up and sing as much as I want her to. But I'd like her on a track. It's not finished until she's on it."
