Backstreet Boy reports jewel theft

Backstreet Boys star Brian Littrell has told police that 120,000 dollars worth of jewellery was stolen from a US hotel where he and his wife were staying.

The singer-songwriter - whose band's hits include I Want It That Way and Incomplete - told WSB-TV that they were leaving the hotel outside of Atlanta when they realised the jewellery had been left on a nightstand in their room.

He said that when they returned to the hotel to retrieve the items, they were gone.

Leighanne Littrell said the jewellery included her engagement ring, which was valued at 110,000 US dollars.

WSB reports that police were at the hotel on Sunday night. It wasn't immediately clear when the reported theft occurred.
