Gotye keeps Dappy from top of chart

Belgian-Australian songsmith Gotye has recorded a second week at number one with his massively popular Somebody That I Used To Know, keeping Dappy from the top spot.

The song, which features New Zealand star Kimbra co-performing the duet, fought off new entry Rockstar from Dappy featuring Brian May, which entered at number two.

Gotye, 31, whose real name is Wally De Backer, had previously been at number one with the song before it slipped to number three.

There were no other new entries in the top 10, the Official UK Charts Company said.

High climbers were Kelly Clarkson's Stronger, up five places from 13 to eight, and Jay-Z and Kanye West with N****s In Paris, climbing from 37 to 27.

Other top 20 new entries are Matt Redman and LZ7's Twenty Seven Million at number 12, followed at number 13 by US hip hop act Chiddy Bang with the track Ray Charles.

The week's biggest faller was Lana Del Rey's Video Games which fell 14 places to number 34.

In the album charts, Emeli Sande's Our Version Of Events leapfrogged Adele's 21 to the top spot.

But Bat Out of Hell legend Meatloaf crashed the charts at number five with Hell In A Handbasket. Ireland's The Cranberries entered the charter at number 37 with Roses, their sixth studio album.

Other albums entering the official top 40 were Sounds From Nowheresville at number 23 by The Ting Tings and rock legends Pink Floyd with a reissue of The Wall which entered at number 22.
