Elton and Madonna kiss and make up?

Sir Elton John and Madonna appear to have buried the hatchet following their apparent feud.

Elton has aimed several catty remarks at the queen of pop in recent months, branding her a "fairground stripper" and claiming her career is over, due to her performance on her controversial current MDNA world tour.

But The Sun reports the pair crossed paths at a restaurant in the south of France last week and were spotted chatting and embracing.

Madonna apparently popped into La Petite Maison in Nice for a bite to eat before her show, a restaurant where Elton is a known regular.

A source said: "Just as Elton was leaving, he went over to talk to Madonna and they were laughing and smiling.They even hugged each other."

Earlier this year Elton had a dig at Madonna ahead of her Superbowl performance, telling her to "make sure you lip-sync good" in a US TV interview.

Last month, speaking on the Australian TV show Sunday Night about Madonna he said: "Why is she such a nightmare? Sorry, her career is over. Her tour has been a disaster and it couldn't happen to a bigger ****... she looks like a f***ing fairground stripper."
