Avril's new man has in-law nerves

Avril Lavigne's fiance Chad Kroeger has confessed he is already nervous about meeting the in-laws.

The Nickelback frontman popped the question to the Sk8r Boi singer last month after six months of dating and confessed to Hello! Canada he is already worrying about his first visit to Avril's hometown of Napanee, Ontario to meet her parents.

Chad said: "I find that almost as terrifying as telling your parents you're going to tie the knot.

"You just never know when someone is going to come out of the woodwork with a story that starts off with, 'Let me tell you about the time...' But I know she is dying to take me to La Pizzeria to try her favourite pizza in the world!"

And the 37-year-old rocker revealed Avril, 27, hadn't been introduced to his parents before he proposed.

Chad revealed: "You never know what your parents are going to say when you tell them you're getting married - especially when it's with someone they haven't met yet!

"My mom is a huge fan of Avril's, so putting her on the speaker phone and telling her the news was hilarious and equally embarrassing."

Avril added: "Everyone is super stoked for us. The reaction from our friends and family has been awesome!"

The pair have enjoyed a whirlwind romance after Avril split from Brody Jenner earlier this year.

Her marriage to first husband Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley ended in 2009 after three years of marriage.
