Nelly: I was told to get boob job

Nelly Furtado has revealed she was once advised to get a boob job.

The Canadian singer-songwriter was talking to Metro about the worst advice she has ever been given and said a music producer once suggested she go under the knife and have implants.

The singer said: "I worked with a producer once who said, 'You should get a boob job - you'd be a knockout.'

"Unfortunately he made good music so I couldn't quit. It was completely out of context, this passing thought that just came out of his mouth."

Nelly recently released her fourth album The Spirit Indestructible, and revealed that the song High Life was inspired by her breakdown in 2007, when she was touring with her third album, Loose.

She said: "I was 19 when I recorded Whoa, Nelly! so I'd been at it eight years when Loose came out. I was playing a role on stage for that album, which was fun but a bit exhausting. I went on stage and was so burned out I had a little emotional breakdown and cried my way through the first three songs. Not having my emotions in check on stage was frightening so I realised I needed a break.

"It's about the experience of achieving the dream of what you thought a perfect life might be and then finding the reality is that true success is more about your own health."
