Heidi Klum to host 2012 MTV EMAs

Heidi Klum is set for the stage as the host for MTV's European Music Awards.

The German supermodel, whose split from ex-husband Seal has made headlines recently, will oversee the glitzy awards ceremony, which will be held in Frankfurt's historic Festhalle.

"I'm honoured to host the 2012 MTV EMA in its return to my home country of Germany," she said.

"The MTV EMA is one of the biggest nights in global music, fashion and culture, and I'm thrilled to play a part in bringing this one-of-a-kind show to audiences all over the world. We're going to have a blast!"

Heidi is no stranger to presenting, having hosted Project Runway and Germany's Next Top Model.

Rihanna tops the list of nominees with six nods, while Taylor Swift has five nominations.

Justin Bieber and Katy Perry follow closely behind with four nominations each, and Lady Gaga, Carly Rae Jepsen, Fun, Lana Del Rey, Nicki Minaj, Jay Z and Kanye West each get three EMA nominations.

Green Day, Gotye, Pitbull, Rita Ora, Flo Rida, Muse, Arctic Monkeys, Jack White and One Direction have also received nods.

The 2012 MTV EMAs, now in their 19th year, will broadcast live on November 11 at 9pm on MTV channels around the world.
