NewsMarch, 14 Carey 'unlikely' to play GlastoMariah Carey has laughed off rumours that she is to perform at Glastonbury this year. There had been speculation that the Grammy-winning songstress and American Idol judge was in "early talks" with organisers to headline the music festival. But the 42-year-old singer's spokesman shrugged off the reports, saying: "This is just an idea. It is unlikely that Mariah Carey will play at Glastonbury this year, because of her current commitments with her new album and American Idol." The representative also revealed that Mariah's forthcoming 14th album is expected for a release in the summer. Mariah - who recently premiered the music video to her new single Almost Home, as featured in Sam Raimi's Wizard Of Oz prequel, Oz The Great And Powerful - is also busy working on Lee Daniels' new film The Butler. The Arctic Monkeys, Rihanna, The Rolling Stones, Kings Of Leon and Fleetwood Mac are all rumoured to headline this year's Glastonbury festival, which will take place in Somerset on the weekend of June 28-30. Nas, Rudimental, Disclosure and AlunaGeorge are among the first names confirmed to perform at the three-day event. Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis said: "I've always thought that the closest parallel with Glastonbury is Notting Hill Carnival, and the buzz around this rebirth is exactly what we were looking for, both musically and visually. There's going to be a lot of incredible music from all around the world."
