NewsMay, 17 Jepsen's jitters over fans' helpCarly Rae Jepsen has revealed getting her fans' input was quite nerve-wracking, in case it backfired and they didn't pick her favourite version. The Call Me Maybe songstress wrote three different lyrical options for her new song Take A Picture, and asked listeners to choose which one they preferred. She went with the most popular choice when she performed the song on the American Idol finale. "You know, one part of me thinks it's really interesting because it was kinda cool to get all those opinions and it was the part that intrigued me to write the song in the first place. Essentially, I wrote three different lyric options and the fans would choose and pick their favourite one," she said. "The problem was, I totally did have a favourite version - because I am a very opinionated person when it comes to music - so I was worried if they picked the version I didn't like, I would kinda be secretly bummed the entire time. But they actually picked the version that I liked so it was good." But Carly Rae admitted she doubts if she would put herself through that rollercoaster again, saying: "I don't know if I would like to do that too much more." The 27-year-old, who came third in Canadian Idol, revealed she was nervous about being back at an Idol show even if she wasn't competing. "It was really strange to be backstage actually. It wasn't so much once I was on, because it was just kind of a performance. But leading up to it - the music that plays - I was like, 'What? Why am I so nervous?'" she admitted. "I don't get nervous any more, but I did, and I think it was the American Idol/Canadian Idol jitters."
