NewsNovember, 4 Eminem and Rihanna take top spotEminem and Rihanna have scored this week's number one single - leaving boy band One Direction trailing behind at number four with their new release. The Monster, aptly-titled for the week of Halloween, places Barbados-born singer Rihanna alongside The Beatles and Elvis Presley as one of just three acts to have hit the top spot in the singles chart seven times over seven consecutive years. Her previous release with rapper Eminem, Love the Way You Lie, made it to number two in the charts back in 2010. The Monster, from The Marshall Mathers LP 2, is Eminem's first number one hit since 2006, when he featured on Akon's Smack That. One Direction, who had been hoping to achieve their fourth UK number one with Story Of My Life, were top of the charts for much of the week but were overtaken by Eminem and Rihanna, the Official Charts Company said. Sixteen-year-old New Zealander Lorde's song Royals, which was last week's number one, falls one place to number two, while Fat Boy Slim's Eat Sleep Rave Repeat is another new entry at number three. It is the first top 10 hit for the DJ since 2001. Former number one Counting Stars, by OneRepublic, rounds off the top five in the singles chart. There are other new entries for Tinie Tempah, at number six with Children of the Sun, featuring John Martin, and The Wanted, who are in at number eight with Show Me Love (America). Youth, by Foxes, enters at 12, with Justin Bieber's Recovery at 28 and new boy band MAD entering the charts at number 37 with Toy Boy. In the albums chart, Arcade Fire's fourth album Reflektor enters at number one, knocking Prism by Katy Perry off the top spot. It outsold the popstar's release by nearly two to one over the past week, according to the Official Charts Company. James Blunt's Moon Landing is at three, while Lorde's album Pure Heroine debuts at four. Arctic Monkey's Mercury Prize-nominated AM is at number five in the albums chart this week. James Blake's album Overgrown, which won the prize, has soared up the charts to number 23, having been outside the top 200 previously. There was also a re-entry into the top 40 for Lou Reed's album Transformer, following the singer's death. Other new entries in the albums charts are Union J's self-titled debut album, at number six, with former X Factor winner Matt Cardle's album Porcelain entering at number 11. Paul Potts' The Greatest Hits enters at 21, with Chas & Dave's That's What Happens another new entry at 25, and This is What I Do by Boy George at 33.
