Avicii cancels shows to get well

Avicii has cancelled all of his upcoming shows for health reasons.

The Swedish DJ - whose real name is Tim Bergling - had a string of gigs and promotional activities lined up but his representatives have confirmed to Billboard that they have all been suspended indefinitely.

It comes after the 25-year-old was rushed to the hospital to have his appendix and gallbladder removed earlier this year.

Ongoing health issues as a result of the operation mean the star now needs time to get well, so he is heading back to his native Stockholm to recuperate.

After he has recovered, the Wake Me Up performer is expected to start working on his second album.
