Ariana Grande denies fan comment

Ariana Grande has dismissed reports that she criticised her fans.

The Problem and Break Free singer, 21. apparently lashed out at her supporters in the privacy of a lift after a visit to a Manhattan radio station.

The New York Daily News quoted an "industry insider" as saying that she was "all smiles" as she "did autographs and pics" but as soon as the lift doors shut she said "I hope they all f***ing die.'"

Ariana appeared to be referring to the report when she wrote on Twitter: "Man some of these rumours that have been coming out about me lately actually have me laughing out loud... really can't take em seriously."

She added: "Sooner or later ppl will realise that what u put out is what u get back. the lies/hate etc. give love and I promise life will treat u better."

Ariana, who is in the running for six MTV European Music Awards, said earlier this summer that the reason she was short with fans at a recent meet and greet was because she was still grieving for her grandfather.

The singer angered fans by seemingly not making an effort with them when they turned out to meet their idol, leading one disgruntled dad to write a blog post about his child's disappointing experience.

Ariana tweeted a fan to explain: "A fan gave me a photo of me & my grandpa. I walked away because I didn't want them to see me start to cry. I am still in mourning and I wrote a letter to have sent to her afterward but MTV told me they had already left."
