NewsSeptember, 19 White's Foo Fighters comment a jokeJack White's apparent pop at the Foo Fighters was just a joke, his representatives have said. The former White Stripes star apparently lashed out during his own show at Fenway Park in Boston this week, with reports saying he referenced the rockers and seemed to suggest they used an extra guitarist to cover up for any mistakes. He apparently referred to a "second guitar player playing the same parts I play, so in case I make a mistake, he's still playing it for you". He also took a swipe at Rolling Stone, seeming to make fun of them for posting articles with headlines like "Fifteen outfits that will blow your mind that Taylor Swift wore this month", and suggesting his rant would provide them with more fodder. "Jack has the upmost respect for the Foo Fighters and communicated with Grohl this morning. "So if you'll let us, we'll all continue with our day and we assure you: All is well in the rock n roll world." Foo Fighters had previously appeared to issue a good-natured response to Jack's comment by tweeting a picture of a chimp holding a guitar with the words: "Busted... behold, the secret of the Foo Fighters sound..."
