Jenkins back on air for Classic FM

Katherine Jenkins has been snapped up for another presenting run by Classic FM for a 12-week series.

The singing star will host The Katherine Jenkins Collection on Sunday afternoons from 2pm, starting on October 5 according to the station's website.

She told the BBC radio station: "Classic FM is the home of classical music in the UK and I'm delighted to be returning for a new series.

"It's a privilege to introduce people to classical music for the first time, but I also look forward to playing something special for those who love the genre already. I can't wait to be back on air!"

Also joining the presenting line-up is comedian and Pointless host Alexander Armstrong, who will collate two hours of the world's greatest classical music every Saturday from 3pm.

He said: "I am delighted to be taking up permanent residence at Classic FM. As a station it does more than any other to ensure that classical music has a secure place in the nation's heart. And to be part of the famous Classic FM weekend line-up is a colossal honour."

Other Classic FM weekend presenters include Alan Titchmarsh, Aled Jones, Nicholas Owen, Alex James, Myleene Klass, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Charlotte Green and Catherine Bott.

Classic FM's managing editor Sam Jackson said: "Classic FM is the nation's classical station, and we're delighted to welcome Katherine and Alexander to our star-studded roster of presenters.

"They both share our mission to make classical music accessible to as broad an audience as possible, and I'm thrilled that they're now part of the Classic FM family."
