Mick Jagger: I'd rather go solo than retire

Sir Mick Jagger would rather release a solo album than retire if the Rolling Stones do not make another record.

The rocker told Rolling Stone magazine he has been working on material for the Stones, but it could be turned into a solo project.

Asked if he would record a follow-up solo album to 2001 LP Goddess In The Doorway, he said: “I’d love to record a Stones album. If that doesn’t happen, then yes.”

The 71-year-old great grandfather expressed no desire to slow down, and is about to embark on a 15-date North American stadium tour with the band.

Retirement has not crossed his mind: “I’m thinking about what the next tour is. I’m not thinking about retirement.”
