Glastonbury 2016 line-up: Niall Horan reckons One Direction are 'not cool enough' to perform

Glastonbury-goers can breathe a sigh of relief, after One Direction's Niall Horan voiced his concern that the boy band are "not cool enough" for the iconic Somerset festival.

The 21-year-old attended last weekend's event with bandmate Louis Tomlinson but is not betting on playing the Pyramid Stage himself anytime soon.

"We're not cool enough to play at Glastonbury," he told The Mirror, adding that he had "loads of fun" watching the likes of James Bay on the day they were there.

Tomlinson, however, would "love to play" next year, so watch this space.

One Direction, brought together by Simon Cowell on The X Factor, have been enjoying a brief break from their On the Road Again Tour, with their next gig scheduled for San Diego, California on 9 July.

Elsewhere, rapper Nicki Minaj has announced her dream to follow Kanye West and headline Glastonbury.

The "Anaconda" singer said she is "just waiting for the offer and can already do the British accent".

How well Minaj's *ahem* "energetic" dance moves would go down on Worthy Farm remains to be seen, but if there was a petition signed by thousands to oust Kanye from the top spot...

Organiser Emily Eavis said last week that the 2016 Glastonbury headliners have already been booked, with Muse and Foo Fighters currently leading the rumours race.
