Jermaine Jackson: 'Janet's gonna be an amazing mum'

Jermaine Jackson knows his sister Janet will make a great mother as she's "very tough" and "strict".

Singer Janet, who turns 50 on Monday (16May16), revealed the happy news that she and her husband Wissam Al Mana, 41, are expecting their first child together earlier this month (May16).

Her older sibling Jermaine, 61, couldn't contain his excitement about a new member joining the famous family during a chat with Us Weekly on Thursday evening (12May16).

"My sister Janet is my baby. She is fine but she’s having a baby," he smiled. "A baby having a baby. We look at her like our little baby. And now she’s grown up and she’s having a baby. I’m proud to be an uncle and I can’t wait to see how this baby is going to look.

"She’ll be a great mother because she is very tough, very strict. I tell her, 'If you need any parenting skills or any baby skills, let me know because I’m the best diaper changer there is on this planet, still to this day.'"

Jermaine may not know what Janet is craving during her pregnancy, but the former Jackson 5 member did joke that his little sister "loves" to eat so is bound to be tucking into tasty treats.

He doesn't know the baby's gender yet either, though the musician is hoping for a little princess to balance things out.

"We need more girls in the family," he grinned. "There are too many boys."

Jermaine also revealed his niece and nephews Paris, Prince and Blanket Jackson - the children of late superstar Michael - are also thrilled to be welcoming a new cousin to the clan.
