Robbie Williams admits he can't remember lyrics to his hit songs and needs autocue

Robbie Williams has revealed he can’t remember the lyrics to his hits – and needs an autocue.

The 46-year-old star admitted: “At some point I just stopped being able to retain the information about the lyrics in my songs.

“Even things like Angels and the big ones like Let Me Entertain You. I need an autocue now because I cant remember anything any more.”

He was speaking on his At Home With the Williamses podcast with Slade star Noddy Holder who is celebrating the 47th anniversary of his hit Merry Xmas Everybody.

Noddy, 74, admitted he didn’t have any issues with remembering his words, saying: “Oh I never got to that stage, no. I could always remember them.”

Robbie’s former bandmate Gary Barlow recently said that he now forgets Take That lyrics.

Robbie also told how he almost got dropped by record company before Angels was a hit: “I did not know but a memo went around the record company saying ‘we are going to drop Robbie Williams’ and they gave this song a chance and off it went. I always thought something was going to happen.”

Robbie, who has four children with wife Ayda Field, recently said he is “living through chemistry” and has become a good husband and father since taking anti-depressants. He also said he is feeling the benefits of a new plant-based diet and exercise regime.

The singer added: “When you lose a bit of weight and start fitting into nice things it feels good. I normally do 20,000 steps a day.”
