Little Mix bosses ‘launch investigation’ as first single after Jesy Nelson’s exit is leaked
Little Mix’s management have reportedly launched an investigation after the band’s debut single as a trio was leaked online.
Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Ann Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall are said to have collaborated with David Guetta to record their first track after Jesy Nelson announced her decision to leave the band last year.
The song, called Heartbreak Anthem, is understood to also feature electronic duo Two Gallants.
Jade, 28, Leigh-Ann, 29, and Perrie, 27, are said to sing about moving on from a breakup in the track and the music video is set to be filmed in the coming weeks.
But, it’s said the song has been leaked online, which has sparked the management into investigating how the leak could have happened.
A source told Daily Star: “Little Mix's management are looking into how the song appeared online as a matter of urgency.
“Heartbreak Anthem is a sugar sweet pop collab with David Guetta and Galantis – it has a 2011 vibe.
“No artist wants their music to leak ahead of it being announced but with this being Little Mix's first single without Jesy it's even more frustrating.”
OK! online has contacted Little Mix’s representatives for comment.
Earlier this month the band were forced to postpone their tour again due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The tour was originally planned for 2020, but is now planned to be taking place in 2022.
It will be the first time the trio embark on a tour without Jesy, after she announced her decision to leave the band in December.
Sharing the statement on her Instagram page, after she shared her decision to take an extended break from the band, she said: “To all my Mixers, The past nine years in Little Mix has been the most incredible time of my life.
“We have achieved things I never thought possible. From winning our first Brit Award to our sold out shows at the O2.
“Making friends and fans all over the world I can’t thank you all enough from the bottom of my heart for making me feel like the luckiest girl in the world.
“The truth is recently being in the band has really taken a toll on my mental health.
“I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard.
“There comes a time in life when we need to reinvest in taking care of ourselves rather than focussing on making other people happy, and I feel like now is the time to being that process.”
She then revealed: “So after much consideration and with a heavy heart, I’m announcing I’m leaving Little Mix.”
