NewsJune, 14 Love Island’s Wes Nelson sets sights on debut music EP as he ditches reality TV rootsWes Nelson is set to leave his reality TV career behind him as he sets his sights on releasing his debut EP. The Love Island star, who appeared on the show in 2018, has made a huge name for himself in the UK music industry thanks to the success of his first single ‘See Nobody’, last year. Now, the 23-year-old is brimming with excitement as he gets stuck into writing and recording more catchy tunes which he hopes will live up to the success of his debut single which reached third place in the charts. Wes, who was one of the most talked about Love Island stars during his series, is also hoping to head off on an international music tour and host electrifying gigs as soon as he’s allowed to travel again. It doesn’t stop there though as the eager reality-turned-music star has revealed that he’s been ‘in talks’ with a number of festival organisers who are keen to have the talented star perform at a number of high-profile festivals across the UK. Lifting the lid on his music plans, Wes told The Sun : “I am not rushing an album, I would like to put out an EP first - a nice little body of work. "I've got so many songs. I can't release them all as singles so it would be nice to get them out there on an EP. “There are loads of different avenues I've explored to find my sound. My next goal is to see people singing my songs back to me. It could be this year. I've been in talks with a couple of festivals and we've been working out my first tour dates with my live agent." While he’s excited for fans to hear his new material, Wes has also ventured down another musical avenue as he’s started to ghost-write songs for other artists. It comes after Wes named Robbie Williams as his biggest musical inspiration. Although the young star knows he’s got a long way to go to reach the heights achieved by former Take That legend Robbie, Wes is dreaming big as he looks to make massive waves on the music scene. The former Love Island star recently told The Mirror: “Robbie is an absolute legend and is obviously a Stoke on Trent boy, he’s a local boy. “It’s certainly big shoes to fill, but I’m on my own journey. “My music is the only focus now, it’s what I’ve wanted to do for my entire life. I say that with a whole heart. It’s been my biggest dream, so to finally actually pursuing it and living that dream out is amazing.” Following the release of his first single, Wes has already attracted celebrity fans including boxing world champion Anthony Joshua and Hollywood actor Idris Elba.
