Noughties pop group tATu unrecognisable as they reunite decades after topping charts

Noughties pop group tATu have reunited 20 years after their hit songs topped the charts and the duo look unrecognisable.

The Russian duo - real names Lena Katina and Julia Volkova - took the music industry by storm with the records All The Things She Said and Not Gonna Get Us.

Now, 10 years after they officially split, the pair are back together and will return to the stage next year.

Lena, 37, and Julia, 36, formed their group in 1999 and continued to perform together until they launched their own solo careers in 2011.

They are perhaps best remembered for their steamy kiss in the music video for 2002's All The Things She Said and they were never afraid to share a kiss on stage.

And now they're set to get back together with their reunion confirmed by Lena on social media.

The flame haired singer told her Instagram followers in a Russian statement which was translated to English: "The official tribute to TATU will take place in the spring of 2022."

She also asked her fans which artists and DJs they'd like to see the band joined by on their reunion.

The announcement was certainly well received by the majority of her followers with many of them quick to comment on her post with sheer excitement.

One fan commented: "It's just like a dream, I can't believe it, I'm so excited now."

Another penned: "I'm lost for words and don't know what to say! Such amazing news!!!!"

And a third wrote: "We'll come from all around the world for this Tribute Show girls. Love you so much."

The duo have come a long way since they burst onto the scene wearing white shirts tied above their midriffs.

Julia has ditched her short pixie cut and now looks just as glamorous with her long hair extensions. She also boasts a number of tattoos and has much plumper lips.

She welcomed her daughter to the world with her ex-partner Pavel Sidorov before having a son called Samir in 2007 with Parvis Yasinov.

Last month, she stood in Russia's legislative elections as the candidate for the United Russia Party.

Lena meanwhile still showcases her beautiful red locks and has opted for a natural look over the years.

She shares a son called Aleksandr with ex-husband Sasha Kuzmanovic. The couple divorced in 2019.
