BBC Strictly Come Dancing: Fans divided over Craig Revel Horwood's new Christmas song calling it 'fabulous' or 'worst song ever'

Fans are divided over Craig Revel Hoorwood's new Christmas song.

The Strictly Come Dancing judge, 56, has revealed his new single with singer Rietta Austin titled 'It's Christmas, Merry Christmas'.

Announcing the release on social media, Craig said: "Thanks to all of you for your great support so far. You can now download and stream It's Christmas, Merry Christmas!, wherever you get your music - there's a handy link in our bio - Let's get it to #1!"

Taking to Twitter, it's fair to say fans had split views about the new Christmas tune.

One said: "Couldn't think of a worse present than someone buying me Gary Barlows new Christmas album," to which someone replied: "Craig Revel-Horwood's Christmas song? It is the worst I've ever heard."

A third tweeted: "Just heard Craig Revel Horwood’s Christmas song. Gee it sucks. Henceforth Craig forfeits the right to criticise anyone. Ever."

A fourth said: "Craig Revel Horwood’s Christmas song - intrigued!!! It’s truly awful - but fabulous!"

And a fifth person commented: "That Christmas song by Craig Revel Horwood isn’t as offensive as I thought it would be."

However, some fans had very positive things to say about the song.

Responding to a video of Craig speaking about the new single on BBC The One Show, one wrote: "Absolutely loved this, you guys are No1 x."

A second said: "That’s a Christmas ten from me. Cracking song because it’s full of joy."

And a third person wrote: "Really enjoyed @CraigRevHorwood on @BBCRadio2 this morning. The song is fabulous."

Due to testing positive for the coronavirus, Craig had to miss the Musicals Week on Strictly Come Dancing and was replaced by actress and singer Cynthia Erivo on the judging panel.
