Mick Jagger and Melanie Hamrick have been engaged for 'two or three years'

Melanie Hamrick has finally confirmed her engagement to Mick Jagger.

In an interview for French magazine Paris Match published on Wednesday, the former ballerina addressed rumours suggesting that the Rolling Stones frontman had proposed to her around two years ago.

"We've been engaged two or three years," she revealed, according to the translation.

However, Melanie admitted she and Mick, 81, aren't in a rush to tie the knot.

"Maybe one day we'll marry, maybe not. We are so happy in our current life that I would be too afraid to change anything," the 37-year-old continued, before reflecting on the secret to their relationship. "We try to support each other, be there for each other, and make sure everyone is happy. That's all that matters to me and all I strive for."

Back in June 2023, Melanie sparked engagement rumours when she wore a large diamond ring on her ring finger while promoting her debut novel, First Position.

But at the time, the writer labelled the bling to be a "promise ring".

"I mean, I have to giggle because did Mick give me the ring? Yes. Is it for that finger? Yes," she coyly told People. "In my mind, it's a promise ring. We'll be immature and call it a promise ring."

Melanie and Mick met in 2014 and welcomed a son named Deveraux two years later.

The legendary musician's only legal marriage was to Bianca Jagger from 1971 until their split was finalised in 1978. He is father to seven other children from previous relationships.
