Benny Blanco insists Selena Gomez wedding is still 'not scheduled' despite Ed Sheeran RSVP

Benny Blanco has insisted that he and Selena Gomez haven't set a date for their wedding despite their friend Ed Sheeran revealing that he'd received an invite.

The Shape of You hitmaker confirmed during Vanity Fair's Lie Detector video series last month that he'd been invited to the wedding, leading fans to believe that the nuptials may be happening sooner than expected.

However, during an appearance on Australia's Today show on Wednesday, Benny insisted that they haven't set a date - but he has informally invited Ed already.

When the interviewer said, "I bet you were thrilled when Ed revealed the RSVP," the music producer replied, "I just told him, 'I'm gonna have a wedding and you're gonna come to the wedding.' I guess newspapers take things out of context and stuff."

He added, "Eventually Ed will come to our wedding when we do have one, but unfortunately, we have not scheduled one yet - but we will!"

Benny and Selena got engaged in December after 18 months of dating.

During joint interviews for their collaborative album I Said I Love You First in March, they insisted that they hadn't started wedding planning as they'd been busy making the record.

Ed and Benny have worked together several times. They collaborated on Ed's 2014 and 2017 smash hit albums Multiply and Divide and co-wrote Justin Bieber's Love Yourself, among other tracks.

Benny attended Ed's wedding when he got married to Cherry Seaborn in January 2019.
