NewsOctober, 17 Snoop Dogg drops Love is Love song after backlash over LGBTQ+ comments![]() Snoop Dogg has launched a song titled Love is Love for his online children's series after facing backlash over comments he recently made about the LGBTQ+ community. In August, the rapper hit headlines when he claimed queer representation is "everywhere" in family movies and cited the 2022 animated film Lightyear, in which a lesbian couple welcomes a baby, as an example. Snoop, real name Calvin Broadus Jr., claimed he struggled to explain the same-sex couple to his grandson. But on Thursday, the hip-hop icon announced that he had collaborated with former The Voice contestant Jeremy Beloate - whom he worked with on the singing competition show in 2024 - to write Love is Love for his Doggyland series on YouTube. The inclusive track is about celebrating "families of all shapes and sizes". Speaking to Jeremy for a Spirit Day conversation organised by the team at advocacy organisation GLAAD, Snoop asserted that the song is a "beautiful bridge to bringing understanding". "This is a programme we've been doing for years, where we involve kids. These are things that kids have questions about, so now hopefully, we can help answer these questions and help them to live a happy life and understand that love is love," the 53-year-old declared. "It's a beautiful thing that kids can have parents of all walks and be shown love, to be taught what love is... being able to have parents from all walks of life, whether it be two fathers, two mothers, whatever it is, love is the key."
