NewsOctober, 20 Brandy blames ill health for abrupt exit from stage![]() Brandy has released a statement a day after suddenly leaving the stage during a show on her The Boy Is Mine Tour. The Top of the World singer is co-headlining the tour with her sister, Monica, and made an unexpected exit on Saturday night in Chicago before fans got to hear the pair's signature duet, The Boy Is Mine. The hit topped the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart for 13 weeks in 1998. On Sunday, Brandy explained that her early exit was due to a medical concern. "To my dear fans in Chicago," Brandy began. "Thank you all for the overwhelming love, support, and, most importantly, your prayers. I sincerely apologise for the abrupt end to last night's performance in Chicago. After weeks of non-stop rehearsals, last night I experienced dehydration and feelings of wanting to faint. Everyone involved agreed that prioritising my well-being was of the utmost importance." "I'm deeply grateful to my sister, Monica, for stepping up with such grace and professionalism and the entire crew for their continued care and support... I look forward to returning to the stage, stronger and more grateful than ever, alongside my girl tonight." Brandy and Monica's joint tour runs until 14 December.
