Dove Cameron and Damiano David announce engagement

Dove Cameron is officially engaged to Maneskin frontman, Damiano David.

The couple announced their engagement through an Instagram post.

"My favourite part of being alive, happy new year," Cameron captioned a series of photos of herself and the singer posing at a party, as she showed off her engagement ring. She also added an engagement ring emoji to her post.

The couple first sparked engagement rumours back in October, when they were photographed in Sydney, Australia, with the Descendants alum wearing a sparkler on her ring finger.

Cameron marked two years of dating David in October, sharing a carousel of photos on Instagram.

"The best two years of my life," the star wrote in her caption.

"I am brought to tears at least once a week because life has become so beautiful with you in it. I love you in a way no words could ever express, but I will never stop trying. Buon anniversario, amore mio."

Cameron and David were first linked in September 2023, when the Disney Channel alum was seen in attendance at a Maneskin show. The couple officially made their red carpet debut in February 2024 at a pre-Grammy gala.

Cameron told People magazine in February last year that she had consistently felt "so much anxiety" with regard to the notion of talking about her relationships in public.

"I've been public in the past," she shared, "and I've had some not-so-public relationships that I was a little bit less inclined to share. Not because of the people I was seeing, but because it just felt like a scary thing to be really open about."

For his part, David has gushed about his relationship with Cameron, telling People, "I'm so in love. We play each other's music, and I would say that we are very lucky because she loves music and I love her music. I really vibe with it."
