Taylor Swift inducted into Songwriters Hall of Fame

Taylor Swift is set to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

The 36-year-old pop superstar will be welcomed into the prestigious institution later this year, making her one of the youngest inductees in the organisation's history.

Also joining the Hall of Fame this year are Alanis Morissette, Kiss stars Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, Kenny Loggins, Christopher 'Tricky' Stewart, Terry Britten and Graham Lyle, as well as Walter Afanasieff.

Swift replaces Carole Bayer Sager as the youngest woman ever inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. However, music legend Stevie Wonder remains the youngest inductee overall in the institution's history, having been honoured at the age of 32 in 1989.

Swift is set to be recognised for a catalogue that includes her songs All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor's Version), Blank Space, Anti-Hero and Love Story.

Following Swift's nomination in November, Songwriters Hall of Fame president and CEO Linda Moran told USA Today that the star qualified for induction at an exceptionally young age after releasing her debut country single Tim McGraw in 2006.

"Taylor qualified from when she was 15 years old," she said. "That's shortly after she signed her publishing deal and had her first commercial release."

she continued, "So age-wise, she's the youngest, and I don't know when we're going to see someone that young again."

The 2026 Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on 11 June in New York City.
