Boyband tops singles chart

Boyband The Wanted have claimed their second number one single after their latest offering, Glad You Came, entered the charts in prime position.

The five-piece knocked Louder by DJ Fresh featuring Sian Evans from the top after just one week.

Loick Essien featuring Tanya Lacey's How We Roll slid down from second place to fifth, the Official Charts Company said.

Acoustic artist Ed Sheeran held on to third place in the singles chart with his song The A Team.

Beyonce's single Best Thing I Never Had climbed from sixth place to fourth and singer songwriter Jason Derulo, who topped the chart two weeks ago, slid from fifth place to sixth with his hit Don't Wanna Go Home.

Adele's album offerings dominated the top of the album charts with 21 taking the top spot, up from number two last week, and 19 taking the third spot, up from fourth last week.

Beyonce's album 4, which topped the charts last week, took second place.

Lady Gaga's Born This Way was fourth in the chart while new entry Skying by The Horrors completed the top five.

Ahead of the announcement that the band had scooped a second number one, member Jay McGuinness told the Official Charts Company they would be celebrating with a lock-in in a London pub. He added: "It is crazy and I can't believe it. It's so hard to get your head around stuff like that.

"We're doing an arena tour at the start of next year. The fact that people want to know about us and come and see us is incredible. When we first started it felt like winning the lottery."
