No request to do Olympics: Jagger
The Rolling Stones have not been asked to play at the 2012 London Olympics, according to lead singer Mick Jagger.
The legendary rockers have been tipped to take part in the one of the many events set up to mark the Games, but Jagger said they had not been approached.
He told the BBC: "Bryan Adams said 'whatever you do, don't do any Olympic openings' after he did the opening of the winter games in Canada. It was so cold, and he had to wear this bizarre suit. That's not going to happen here - it would just rain."
The singer also criticised the closing ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Games which saw Leona Lewis and Jimmy Page perform Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love on top of a red double decker bus.
Jagger said: "It wasn't a brilliant piece of theatre when they left the stadium with a London bus with Jimmy Page on it. I don't want to be on that bus when it arrives in London."
