Devlin tipped for X Factor glory

Teenage star Janet Devlin has been tipped as "the one to beat" after getting through to the next stage of the X Factor.

The singer, from Northern Ireland, won over the judges and an audience of 5,000 at Wembley Arena with her version of Aerosmith's I Don't Want to Miss a Thing.

The panel put through 32 acts to the judges' houses, but Louis Walsh predicted big things for Devlin, saying: "She's the one to beat in this competition at the moment."

She also won praise from Take That star Gary Barlow who said: "Every time she sings, it's like I've never heard that song before, and I like it better, I like it better than the original."

Among the other girls who made it through and will be mentored by Kelly Rowland was Jade Richards.

Barlow was given the boys to mentor and will have to look after acts including Frankie Cocozza and former X Factor reject John Wilding.

Tulisa Contostavlos will mentor the groups, while Walsh looks after the over-25s, including eccentric act Goldie Cheung and Kitty Brucknell who spent more than £2,000 on a special costume for her version of Feeling Good.
