NewsOctober, 26 La Havas: I'm fighting fit nowLianne La Havas has revealed she is fighting fit after a recent health scare. The Is Your Love Big Enough? singer had to stay in hospital for five days earlier this month after developing a kidney infection, which forced her to cancel the first leg of her tour. The Mercury Music Prize-nominated star said: "I was very upset about having to cancel. But we've rescheduled everything, and I'm no longer on antibiotics, so I feel great now." "The first bit was kind of emotional because you find out you've got to stay a night (in hospital) and it's a bit lonely, and there's lots of unwell people around you. "But it's probably the most I've seen my family and friends in a long time. I really appreciate their support and also of all the fans, because I posted on Facebook that I was there." The singer said she is now on a health kick. "I think it was just a combination of working really hard and playing really hard probably. I was kind of neglecting my body a bit so now I'm completely alcohol-free, I don't even drink coffee any more, I'm well boring, but I feel much better for it." She said of her recent Mercury and Q Award nominations: "It's nice to be acknowledged for what you're doing, especially in music where there's so much of it. Definitely."
