NewsMarch, 11 Bellamy: I wanted classical careerMatt Bellamy has revealed that he never dreamt of being a rock star. The Muse frontman, who plays piano and guitar with the band, admitted that he wanted to be a classical musician instead, reported The Sun. "When I was younger, my dream was always to be in music, but I didn't have any dream to be a rock star. I wanted to be in a classical band or a jazz band," he said. "So when I started, I wanted to learn the jazz piano, or maybe the clarinet." Matt, who has a one-year-old son Bing with actress fiancee Kate Hudson, is thrilled that rock music has the potential to move listeners in many ways. "We do a song like Uprising and a year later there's news about global uprisings everywhere. There's no connection obviously, but it's happening. Whether it's directly caused by music or not remains to be seen," he added. The group are to embark on their biggest ever stadium dates around Europe this summer, including two dates at London's Emirates Stadium.
