NewsApril, 22 Jepsen, Bieber win at Juno AwardsCarly Rae Jepsen has beat her mentor Justin Bieber to one of the top gongs at this year's Juno Awards. The Canadian pair - who became friends after Justin championed Carly early in her career and referred her to his own manager - were both up for Best Album Of The Year, but Carly scooped the prize for her record, Kiss. However, Justin wasn't sore about losing out to Carly at the annual awards celebrating Canadian music. He tweeted: "@carlyraejepsen hey if I'm gonna miss one at least it's my own artist. Lol. Happy for u." And he didn't go home empty-handed, winning the Fan Choice Award. Carly also clinched the prizes for Best Single Of The Year (Call Me Maybe) and Pop Album Of The Year (Kiss). Other winners at the ceremony, which was hosted by Michael Buble, included Marianas Trench for Group Of The Year and The Weeknd for Breakthrough Artist. Leonard Cohen was a double winner, clinching Artist Of The Year and the Songwriter trophy.
