1D get Scooby Doo-style tour bus?

One Direction are apparently planning to travel between gigs in a Scooby Doo-style tour van.

The Live While We're Young singers are having a custom-designed tour bus made in the style of the Scooby Doo wheels, according to the Daily Mirror.

At the moment their VW camper van ride is being pimped in Enfield, where the 1D logo is being printed on its green and blue paintwork.

Inside won't look much like a 70s camper van, with a plasma screen filling the entire wall behind the driver's head and individual entertainment consoles installed, as well as a mini bar and toilet.

The state-of-the-art refurb is reportedly costing around £70,000.

A source told the Mirror: "The boys love cartoons and Scooby Doo is a cult classic. They wanted to do something special ahead of their US tour and decided to get a bespoke tour bus created.

"The guys are desperate to have it shipped over to America so it can join them on tour. Scooby's obviously a US import and massive out there so they know the van will be a hit with both the fans - and their mums.

"If management decide it's too expensive and impractical then they'll simply keep it as a fun vehicle for travelling from city to city over here."

1D are touring America this summer but their van won't be ready for another six weeks.

They are not the first band to get their own unique tour bus - The Beatles famously had a Magical Mystery Tour bus in 1967.
