Minaj, Brown to perform at awards

Nicki Minaj and her mentor, Lil Wayne, are to join forces for a performance at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas.

Billboard also announced Chris Brown, Jennifer Lopez, Ed Sheeran, David Guetta, Akon, Ne-Yo and Icona Pop would be playing at the star-studded US event.

Taylor Swift, Maroon 5 and fun. lead the nominations in 11 categories. Taylor, Justin Bieber, Maroon 5, Rihanna and One Direction will compete for the top artist award.

Previously announced performers include Taylor and Justin, Bruno Mars, Miguel, Christina Aguilera, Selena Gomez, Pitbull, The Band Perry and Macklemore And Ryan Lewis.

Prince, who will receive the icon award, will also perform.

Tracy Morgan will host the awards on May 19, to air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena on ABC in the US.
