Swift: Simon duet was 'special'

Taylor Swift has revealed that singing with her idol Carly Simon was "special".

The I Knew You Were Trouble singer brought Carly on as a surprise guest as they duetted on her hit You're So Vain at the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachussetts, on July 27.

Describing it as a "special night", the 23-year-old said in a behind-the-scenes video before the performance: "Once we get out there and we have 55 thousand people in a sing-along, it's just going to be like karaoke night in a stadium for everyone out there."

Taylor, whose songs such as We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together and Dear John are reported to be about her break-ups, revealed Carly's track hit a nerve with her.

"When I heard You're So Vain, I thought that was the best song that has been written. That is the most direct way anyone has ever addressed a break-up. It's amazing," she said.

Following their on-stage duet during her Red world tour, Taylor tweeted: "Got to sing You're So Vain with Carly Simon at Gillette Stadium tonight!!!!! Unreal. I could not possibly look up to her more."
