Abba planning anniversary reunion?

Abba are considering a reunion in 2014 to celebrate their 40th anniversary.

Next year marks 40 years since the Swedish pop group - made up of Agnetha Faltskog, Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad won the Eurovision Song Contest with hit Waterloo and took the world by storm.

Agnetha was asked by German newspaper Welt am Sonntag if they were considering marking the occasion, to which she replied "of course it is something we're thinking about".

She added: "There seem to be plans to do something to mark this anniversary in some way. But I can't say at this point what will come of them."

The band were formed in 1972. Agnetha and Bjorn, and Anni-Frid and Benny were both married couples, and both subsequently divorced.

Their last album The Visitors was released 1982 and the band never formally broke up. But they are also one of the few star bands to have not jumped on the reunion bandwagon.

Earlier this year Agnetha revealed the group had turned down reunion offers over the years because they were asked to perform too many shows.

The Swedish pop group were reportedly offered a one billion dollar sum to get back together.

But Agnetha, 63, told the Radio Times: "We said no because they wanted 250 shows or something, it was incredible. No chance! We had done it."
