No Robbie on new Take That album

Robbie Williams has said he won't be able to work on Take That's next album or have a permanent place with the group on tour.

The singer, 40, said that his wife Ayda expecting their second child and his own tough schedule meant that he wouldn't be able to join the chart-toppers.

He told The Sun: "Logistically, I can't do it. I have the tour and I'm going to be a dad again."

Speaking after a gig in Vienna, the singer hinted that he could pop up with the band on some of their tour dates.

"It doesn't mean to say I won't join in along the way. Whatever happens, I am absolutely going to be in Take That - I love being in Take That," he said.

He added that after his own Swing Both Ways tour finishes he will be "away for a year or two".

Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Howard Donald and Jason Orange have been in the studio producing Take That's next album.

The singer has been going on the road with Ayda, daughter Teddy, and his own father Pete Conway, as well as Pete's wife and Robbie's mother-in-law.

He said: "It's a very loving, safe environment... We don't get time to worry about us or the show... We've got it all going on backstage."
