Ed Sheeran plays secret pub gig

Ed Sheeran has returned to the pub he used to play at before he was famous for a secret gig.

The A Team singer gave away 100 tickets on Facebook to fans, but kept the location of the gig secret until the day before to make sure it stayed intimate.

According to Digital Spy, he performed at the Steamboat Tavern in Ipswich on May 5 before heading to London for a much bigger crowd at Koko in Camden and then on to Dublin's Vicar Street for another show that night.

Ed, who is from Framlingham in Suffolk, used to play at the pub before he was signed and became famous across the world.

He said: "I haven't played this venue in almost five years - it's nice to come back to where it first started.

"Every single fan here has kept the location very quiet because they didn't want anyone else to find out, so it's a very chilled atmosphere."

Hilary Duff has recently revealed that she will be collaborating with Ed on her new album.
