Kasabian rocked out iTunes festival

Kasabian turned back the years as they celebrated the 10th anniversary of their self-titled debut album by performing the album in its entirety at the 2014 iTunes festival.

The band started their set at Camden's Roundhouse promptly at 8pm, opening with Club Foot before playing all 13 songs on the record in track order, finishing with U Boat. Some of the songs such as Ovary Stripe, Pinch Roller, Butcher Blues and Orange have not been played live for over five years.

Singer Tom Meighan even joked about the group's subdued set, saying: "I hope you liked our support band - they were alright weren't they?"

But the atmosphere changed during the second set, which featured a collection of their greatest hits, starting with Bumblebee, from their latest album 48:13.

The front of the stage soon turned into a mosh pit, with gig-goers dancing and waving their hands, as the band played anthems including Shoot The Runner, Underdog, Days Are Forgotten, Stevie, Eez-Eh and the full seven-minute run of Treat.

Guitarist Sergio Pizzorno implored the crowds to show their "fingers", before the set ended with "a beautiful love song", the semi-acoustic Goodbye Kiss from Velociraptor.

Tom declared: "Camden Roundhouse, you are Empire", introducing their track of the same name, then followed by an energetic Vlad The Impaler and Fire.

Having played 27 songs altogether that night, it was one of the longest concerts Kasabian have played.

Canadian producer Deadmau5 opened the month-long festival on September 1, which Spanish tenor Placido Domingo will close on September 30.

Kylie Minogue, Pharrell Williams, Lenny Kravitz and Mary J Blige are amongst the other acts who will perform at the music event, with all performances streamed live.
