Celine Dion's brother fighting for life a day after cancer claims her husband

Celine Dion has been dealt another blow as she mourns the death of her husband Rene Angelil - her brother is also fighting for his life.

Multiple reports suggest the singer's 59-year-old sibling Daniel is also battling cancer, and has been given days to live.

Rene, 73, lost his fight with the disease on Thursday (14Jan16).

Daniel is suffering with brain, tongue and throat cancer, and his loved ones fear he may not make it through another week.

A representative for the star has confirmed her brother, one of Celine's 13 siblings, is close to death as the family gathers by his side in Montreal, Canada.

"It could be any day now," a source told People.com. "No one knows how long he has. Celine had heard that he might pass on Tuesday but he seems to be holding on."

Following her husband's passing on Thursday, the My Heart Will Go On singer cancelled her scheduled weekend concerts at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

"They're close," the insider added. "She's close with all of her siblings. It's hard. Celine is still in Vegas with her kids making plans for (her husband's) funeral. It's a typical grieving process. There's moments of shed tears, moments of memories and laughter. She's grieving the loss of her husband."
