NewsDecember, 6 Beyonce leads 2017 Grammy Award nominationsBeyonce looks set for a big night at the 2017 Grammy Awards after scoring nine nominations. The Halo singer has landed a nomination for the coveted Album of the Year for her visual disc Lemonade, and it will do battle with Adele's 25, Justin Bieber's Purpose, Views by Drake, and A Sailor's Guide to Earth by Sturgill Simpson. Her single Formation also landed her a nod for Record of the Year, which is also a Beyonce and Adele competition. The British singer scored a nomination for Hello and other competitors include Lukas Graham for 7 Years, Rihanna featuring Drake for Work and Stressed Out by Twenty One Pilots. Beyonce's Formation and Adele's Hello have received further nominations in the Song of the Year category. Other nominees include Mike Posner (I Took A Pill in Ibiza), Justin Bieber (Love Yourself) and (Lukas Graham). Drake, Rihanna, and Kanye West followed closely behind Beyonce with eight nominations each. And in the last category announced by Meghan Trainor on U.S. show CBS This Morning was Best New Artist, which will be a competition between Kelsea Ballerini, The Chainsmokers, Chance the Rapper, Maren Morris, and Anderson .Paak. The rest of the shortlist were revealed online. The 59th Grammy Awards, hosted by James Corden, will take place on 12 February (17) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
