Marc Anthony's father insists Shannon De Lima split isn't 'concrete'

Marc Anthony has yet to file for divorce from estranged wife Shannon De Lima, according to his father.

The 48-year-old singer's split from his 28-year-old model wife was revealed last month (Nov16). But while Marc's dad Felipe Muniz acknowledged that the former couple has a "lot of problems", he said the legal side of the split has not yet been put into motion.

"He's going through tough times right now, but he knows how to accept what comes out of this," Felipe told Telemundo Puerto Rico's Dando Candela in an interview.

Asked about the potential of the pair getting a divorce, Felipe added: "There's nothing concrete like that."

Marc and Shannon's break-up hit headlines just days after the singer shared an embrace and a kiss with ex-wife Jennifer Lopez at the Latin Grammy Awards.

But Felipe backed up what Jennifer's longtime manager Benny Medina had said after the event, confirming the pair is not romantically involved once again.

"They're recording together," he insisted.

When asked if the smooch was a publicity stunt, Felipe quipped: "Hmmmm…You already know."

Felipe's comment comes after Jennifer's best friend Leah Remini was asked about the kiss during an appearance on U.S. talk show Watch What Happens Live earlier this month (Dec16).

Asked if Jennifer's kiss with Marc had anything to do with his marriage split, the actress replied, "Absolutely not, that is not the reason. Marc's separation had happened already, clearly way before that."

Leah then offered up her thoughts on the headline-grabbing stage appearance.

"I thought it was an innocent kiss between two parents and two friends," she explained. "I love them onstage together, and I love that they still perform (together)."

Marc wed Venezuelan model Shannon at his residence in the luxury Casa de Campo beachside golf resort in La Romana, Dominican Republic in November 2014. The couple became engaged the previous March (14), after dating on and off for two years. The romance began about five months after the singer split from J.Lo.

According to TMZ, who broke the split news, Shannon and Marc were last seen together publicly at his Madison Square Garden concert in August (16), when Jennifer performed a duet with Anthony.

Marc was previously married to beauty queen Dayanara Torres and finalised his divorce from Jennifer, with whom he has eight-year-old twins Max and Emme, in 2014.
