Mick Jagger pays tribute to Marianne Faithfull

Mick Jagger has paid tribute to former partner, Marianne Faithfull.

Marianne died on 30 January, aged 78.

She was in a relationship with the Rolling Stones singer between 1966 and 1970.

Marianne was often referred to as the muse for the Rolling Stones, reportedly inspiring their songs Wild Horses and You Can't Always Get What You Want.

Mick, 81, posted a black and white photo of the couple together from the sixties, and penned a tribute to his former flame.

"I am so saddened to hear of the death of Marianne Faithfull," he wrote. "She was so much part of my life for so long. She was a wonderful friend, a beautiful singer and a great actress. She will always be remembered."

Fellow Rolling Stones star Keith Richards also wrote a tribute post on his X account, saying, "My heartfelt condolences to Marianne's family! I'm so sad and will miss her!! Love, Keith."

Marianne was married and divorced three times; once to artist John Dunbar from 1965 to 1966. They share son Nicholas together.

After her relationship with Mick Jagger ended in 1970, she was married Ben Brierly of punk band the Vibrators from 1979 to 1986, then actor Giorgio Della Terza in 1988 to 1991.
